That's me in the picture, yes!
The time has arrived for me to write my final blog; I am closing my coaching business. After much reflection and discussion, I plan to travel and explore what else the world has to offer. I'm super excited to be at the discovery stage of A Big Trip and will continue to use the philosophy of yoga to roll out my mat in as many new countries as possible.
When I first started practicing yoga a few years ago now I was truly hopeless at it. I rolled about on the mat like a baby elephant, waiting for the Savasana (corpse pose) at the end. Downward dog was too much, let alone a headstand or arm balance (crow pose, anyone?!) No-one was more surprised than me at what I've achieved in my practice. By showing up consistently I learned the hardest part is to roll out the mat and get started! I was completely unaware back then of the impact that yoga would have on my life.
I started Yoga with Adriene (I love her, she is brilliant - check her out on YouTube here) and remain a huge fan. "Find what feels good", she said. So, I did. I noticed small improvements in my practice and became aware of the connections between yoga and my coaching. I started to take my yoga off the mat.
I respected the truthfulness and discipline that yoga brought to my coaching. Connecting to yoga helped me to become a better coach through body, breath and mind and to show up for myself and my coaching clients.
I am in an extremely fortunate position to be able to travel and start this new chapter of my life. Since leaving my NHS and social work career in 2012 I've had such an amazing time and achieved more than I ever thought possible. I've been privileged to work with some wonderful businesses and people in the process of setting up and running my coaching business who supported me, taught me so much and remain lifelong friends.
But mostly I've been humbled by the wonderful people I've coached who have dared to dream and share those personal goals with me. Your honesty and bravery, not to mention huge achievements, completely took my breath away. Please, keep sending me the new baby photos, career highlights and updates on how you are getting on. It's impossible to put into words how much sharing your journeys have meant to me over the years.
I will never forget you
There is still time to say hello, or book into my diary for a complementary refresher session here I am taking bookings should you want to have more coaching sessions until the 1st of December 2022 so I hope to see you soon.
Warmest regards, Sue.
