DISC Workshops in Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Derbyshire & Online
DISC profiling is an assessment tool that enables you to identify different behaviour and personality traits that can be grouped into four categories, factors or elements: D, I, S & C. These categories give an insight into how different traits are expressed in each different personality and how these factors interact with each other.
Learn DISC to help you to:
-
Identify your own preferred style – it’s a great self-awareness tool
-
Learn how to modify your behaviour in order to manage relationships more effectively
-
Develop advanced people-reading skills which help you build rapport quickly and effectively
-
Identify the positive traits of any person to help them achieve their goals
These are just SOME of the benefits of understanding how DISC works in practice. DISC can make a difference to you, your clients and your business.
Understanding DISC can help you understand your team colleagues quickly. DISC knowledge helps to recognise their preferred communication style and give you a ‘heads up’ as to what to look out for, whether they are over optimistic, over analytical, over cautious, overzealous. DISC helps to identify these fairly easily.
Here are a few tips to help you communicate with different styles:
Communicating with the D-Style
-
Pick up on their pace – D’s tend to like to move quickly and move on
-
Understand that they are demanding of themselves and others – this means they may well be challenging
-
Make sure your questions are to the point – cut to the chase, get to the point - be bright, be brief and be gone!
Communicating with the I-Style
-
Keep the session fast, friendly and if possible fun
-
I-Styles like to talk and tell a story – be a great listener but keep them on track to get them where they want to go
-
Over-optimism can be their downfall! With this in mind, you’ll need to check the reality of what they are seeking to achieve in the timescale they have given themselves
Communicating with the S-Style
-
Spend time and encourage them to share all the possibilities of what could happen then try out new ideas with confidence.
-
Give them time to reflect and consider their answers. Resist the temptation to interject when there is a silence.
-
Understand who their goal is for…for them or are they trying to achieve something for another person?
Communicating with the C-Style
-
Pay attention to detail, be accurate in what you say and what you send via e-mail. Ask them what further information they might need to move things forward
-
Understand that they will want time to think things through, reflect, do some research and consider multiple options
-
Help them to understand that sometimes things do not have to be perfect before taking action
